Johnny Ray Morgan, Sr., 78, of Monticello, Georgia, died on June 22, 2025. Born and raised in Lithonia, Georgia, he was a son of the late Clarence B. & Elsie Julia Morgan.
Johnny was a man of many talents. He worked in a variety of trades and was known for his ability to fix anything. One of his notable achievements was his valued service as a volunteer firefighter in Butts County, a testament to his generous nature and willingness to help others. "PawPaw," as he was affectionately known to many, was an avid enthusiast of trout fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and fast cars. What mattered most to him, however, was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who never hesitated to share his time and resources.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Camp; and son, Lonnie Andrew Morgan. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Deloriouse Morgan; children, Johnny Ray Morgan, Jr., Tara & Jeremy Wilbanks, Tracy & Kevin Martin, Jason & Sheena Cody, Kimberly & Sohn Collum; grandchildren, Carlie, Kaitlyn, Addison, Hayden Ray, Alyssa, Eric, Emma, Kristyn, Scott, Savannah; 3 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence & Sherry Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held 4 o'clock, Saturday, June 28, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock until service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations to assist with final expenses.
