Jonathan Clyde Merritt, age 67, of Lithonia, died January 11, 2020. He was a 1971 graduate of Lithonia High School and was a forklift driver for Sweetheart Plastics. Johnny loved fishing, hunting, the Georgia Bulldogs, and animals, especially his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Elizabeth and William Clyde Merritt. Surviving are his sister, Sylvia Wright and her husband, Thomas, of Watkinsville; nieces, Leslie Nelms and her husband, Wendell, of Athens, and Ashley Linn and her husband, Brian, of Jefferson; great-nephews, Jordan, Jackson and Joseph. A graveside service will be held 12 o'clock, Wednesday, January 15, at Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery, 6910 S. Goddard Rd., Lithonia, GA 30038, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends 11- 11:45 prior to the service at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
