Johnnie Janell "Nell" Denney, age 86, of Oxford, died September 22, 2020. She was born in Dahlonega to Ruby and William Henry Hicks. She worked for many years for QSP as a line supervisor and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Nell was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her, she might have to reschedule a doctor's appointment, but would never miss one of her families' birthday parties. Nell was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Bodie Denney, Jr.; son, Tony Denney; and daughter-in-law, Connie Denney. Surviving are her sons, Jerry Denney of Oxford and Al Denney and his wife, Susan, of Monticello; daughter, Angie Haney and her husband, David, of Shady Dale; daughter-in-law, Lynne Denney of Oxford; sisters, Diane McDuffie and her husband, Leon, of Commerce and Linda Dunning of Covington; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held 2 o'clock, Saturday, September 26, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Interment followed at Hillandale Memorial Park Cemetery.
