John Davis "J.D." Shaw, age 80 of Covington, died November 15, 2020, surrounded by his family. He worked as a screen operator at National Posters for many years then was self employed as an aluminum contractor, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conyers. J.D. enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling on TV, reading his Bible, and spending time with his family. He loved to sing, and would often sing with his wife and other family members at many churches. J.D. was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Sara Shaw, and sister, Delores Scott. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Charlsie Shaw, of Covington; daughters, Octavia Ann Calhoun and her husband, Douglas, and Cynthia (Cindy) Shaw, all of Covington; sister; Shirley Dixon and her husband, Bobby, of Savannah; brothers, Bill and Raymond, both of Florida, and Wayne Shaw of Conyers; two grandchildren, Kaylin Henderson and her husband, Matt, and John Calhoun and his wife, Stephanie, all of Covington; five great-grandchildren, Tristan, Logan and Lucas Henderson, and Leah and Jared Calhoun; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 o'clock, Tuesday, November 17, at Way of the Cross Baptist Church Cemetery, 646 Sigman Road NW, Conyers, GA, 30012 with Pastor Nathan Brock officiating.
