John Troy Preston, III, age 74, of Social Circle died January 1, 2017. Troy was an active member of the Social Circle United Methodist Church. He was a very proactive man and had many accomplishments during his life which included serving as the Chairman of the Board for the Walton County Hospital Authority for over 20 years and establishing the Walton County Healthcare Foundation, where he served as Director. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed greatly. Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and John Troy Preston, Jr. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Pat Preston; sons, Charles Preston of Monroe and John Troy "Jay" Preston, IV of Social Circle; grandchildren, Catherine Eleanor Preston, Matthew Preston, and Lucas Preston. A celebration of Life Reception will be held from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday January 5, 2017 in the fellowship hall of the Social Circle First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Walton County Healthcare Foundation, 131 E. Church Street, Monroe, Georgia 30655.
