Joe L. Hall, Jr., age 89, of Lithonia, died July 4, 2023. Mr. Hall was a graduate of Washington High School and later Morris Brown College obtaining his Bachelor's Degree. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of West Hunter Street Baptist Church. Joe's career was spent with the Atlanta Housing Authority and Atlanta Public Schools where he was a football coach. He dedicated his life to influencing the lives of countless young people, both academically and athletically and through his work was able to express his love of sports every day. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rosa Hall; former wife, Jeralyn Hill-Hall; sister, Bessie Mae Hall; and brother, Clarence Hall. Survivors include his daughter, Javalyn Hall-Johnson and her husband, Michael of Lithonia; granddaughter, Micah Ioni-Skye Johnson; niece, Sherri Collier. A funeral service to honor Mr. Hall's life will be held 4 o'clock, Thursday, July 13, 2023, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, GA 30058, with Rev. William Collier officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment in the Georgia National Cemetery Columbarium, Canton, Georgia, will take place 3 o'clock on July 17, 2023.
