Joe Paul Collins, age 77, of Monroe died Sunday, July 3, 2022. Born and raised in Conyers, to John and Cornelia Collins, he attended Rockdale County High School. Joe was a master plumber for Local Union #72 for many years. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Social Circle. Joe loved fishing, gardening, repairing items, reading his Bible, watching "The Shepherd's Chapel" on television and telling stories and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Joann Payne Collins; son, Tony Randal Collins; parents; brothers, Howard Collins, Sam Collins, Owen Collins, and Robert Collins. Surviving are his sons, Steve Collins, and his wife, Shlaine, of Loganville, and Chris Collins and his wife, Beth, of Monroe; sister, Arlene Watson of Porterdale; brothers, Edward Collins of Conyers, Pete Collins of Hiawassee and Jimmy Collins of Covington; grandchildren, Katie Judd, Kurt Collins, Sarah Beth Roebuck, Jackson Collins, Logan Collins, and Brooke Collins; great grandchild, Lynlee Collins; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, July 6, in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Franklin, Jamie Smith and Greg Layfield officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, July 5th, at Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Solid Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 1317 N. Cherokee Road, Social Circle, GA 30025.
