Mrs. Jo Kelley King, of Monroe, Georgia, died the 11th day of February, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born into the large family of Grady & Orrie Kelley on May 7, 1932, in Lithonia, Georgia, where she grew up.
Mrs. King retired from General Electric after over 3 decades of service. She found immense joy in cultivating her flower garden, with a particular fondness for roses. A current member of Covington First United Methodist Church, her faith and commitment were deeply respected. Central in her life, however, was her family. She treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren making priceless memories.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, William A. "Bill" King, Sr.; her parents; and her siblings, Hubert Kelley, Jack Kelley, John Kelley, Robert Kelley, Ella Kelley Owen, Frances Kelley Miller, Annette Kelley Rogers. Survivors
include her cherished sons, Tony King, and his wife, Sherry, of Loganville, Brad King of Davidson, NC; grandchildren, Dr. Michael King, Kristen King, Taylor King, Caroline King, Hunter King; step-grandchildren, Ashley Mulhausen, Lewis Smith; 2 great-granddaughters, Lyla & Evee Mulhausen; sister, Judy Kelley Sharp; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Mrs. King's life will be held at 3 o'clock, Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church St., Lithonia, with Dr. Bill McKoy officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, from 2-3 PM.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Great Oaks Senior Living in Monroe, where she lived for the last 4 years of her life. Also, to the staff of Abbey Hospice who provided loving and compassionate care to her in the last few months of her life.
