Jay Walter Pruehs, age 69, of Lawrenceville, died Monday, September 21, 2015. Jay was born in Parma, Ohio on January 22, 1946. He attended Valley Forge High School and The University of Cincinnati. On October 29, 1966, he married Cheryl Ann Mackulin. They had two sons, Daniel Jay and Matthew Scott. Dan and his wife, Krista, have two sons, Nicholas Scott and Mitchell Jay. Matt is the father of two children, Jackson Matthew and Sydney Grace. He has a brother, John C. Pruehs and several nieces and nephews. Jay worked most of his career in the industrial valve, pipe and fittings industry and was the owner of Valves and Fittings, Inc. for 25 years. He changed careers and became a real estate agent dealing in commercial real estate and of late as a business broker. Jay also spent several years as part of the Strategic Coach program out of Chicago and was a loyal member of Cannon United Methodist Church in Snellville. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. As the number one fan and supporter of his grandchildren, he will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held 2'oclock, Tuesday, September 29, at Cannon UMC in Snellville, with Rev. Will Zant, Rev. Blair Zant, Rev. Kathy McFarland and Rev. Leigh Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Cannon UMC, 2424 Webb Ginn House Road, Snellville, GA.
