Janet Delaine Thorne

2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Janet Delaine Thorne, 65, of Conyers, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2026, just one day before her 66th birthday. She was born on September 27, 1960, to the late Charley and Faye Swann.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia. Janet was married to Leonard T. Thorne Jr., with whom she shared almost fifty cherished years together. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard T. Thorne Jr.; her children, Tommy Thorne (Tara) of Carrollton,Georgia; Charley Thorne (Lisa) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Jimmy Thorne (Brittny) of Loganville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Owen, Elliot, Lily, Emily, Wesley, Ellasyn, Lucas, Adeline, Noah, and Elizabeth; her brother, Chris Swann; and her nephew and niece, Joel and Sadie Swann.

A funeral service to honor Janet's life will be held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1233 Pleasant Hill Rd. NW, Conyers, with Rev. Scott Richardson officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 29, from 5-7 PM, at Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Janet will be remembered for the love she gave her family, her faith, and the special place she held in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, brother, niece and nephew, extended family, church family, and friends.
