Martha Jane Johnson, age 73, of Athens, died March 17, 2022. Born in Atlanta to Conley William and Lillian Pounds Johnson, she grew up in Redan, where she attended Redan United Methodist Church. Jane was a graduate of Lithonia High School, class of 1966, and then received her associate degree from Georgia Southwestern. She worked for many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Doug Brown. Jane enjoyed fishing, visiting the beach and attending baseball and football games which her sons played in. She was a great mother. Jane was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her sons, Ben Freeman of Social Circle and Jack Freeman of High Falls and his fiance, Lauren Wilbourn; sister, Nancy Ballard and her husband, Clark, of Wilson, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jacob Freeman, Conleigh Freeman and Anderson Brown; nephew, David Ballard. A graveside service will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, March 21, at Redan Cemetery with Pastor Mark Coffman officiating.
