James Lee Thompson, age 65, of Stockbridge, died Friday, October 11, 2019. He was born in Atlanta to Paul and Mary Thompson, was a 1971 graduate of Lithonia High School, and retired as a territory manager from Kellogg's Company. James enjoyed anything that concerned the outside such as, fishing, sitting on his front and back porch, the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, traveling, spending time with his Yorky, "Benny" and especially the time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Kathy Thompson; daughter, Marsha Hall and her husband, Michael Jason, of Aiken, S.C.; son, Mark James Thompson and his wife, Joy, of Roswell; brothers, Mike Thompson and his wife, Kim, of Lithonia, and Tim Thompson and his wife, Neshia, of Conyers; grandchildren, Adelyn, Autumn and Annaston Thompson, and Mallory Claire Hall; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, October 15, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Jason Hall and Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 Monday evening and one hour prior to the service.
