James A. Kidd, Jr., age 70, of Covington, died June 27, 2015. He was a native of Selma, Alabama but was raised in Linden, New Jersey. James served his country with the U.S. Army in Germany, retired from Allied Security and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Kidd; and baby sister, Janet Kidd. A loving husband, he was survived by his wife, Glennell Woodard Kidd; daughter, Laurethea Kidd; son, James Kidd, III; step-daughter, Stephanie Woodard; sister, Jacquline Williams; brothers, Lamar Kidd and Alan Kidd; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, July 3, at Belmont Baptist Church with remains placed in state beginning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Nolan Jackson will officiate. Interment service will be held 1 o'clock, Tuesday, July 7, at Georgia Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA, 31061.
