James Hoyt Edwards, age 99, of Lithonia, died November 19, 2020. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a cutter for a ladies clothing manufacturer, Briarcliff Mills, for many years and a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church, McDonough. Hoyt loved his cowboy boots, watching western movies, dancing (he took line dancing when he was 75), and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Harris Edwards. Surviving are his son, Michael David Edwards, Sr. and his wife, Brenda, of Lithonia; grandchildren, Michael David Edwards, Jr. and his wife, Pam, of McDonough, Thomas Chanch Edwards and his wife, Amy, of Loganville, Melissa Lynn Atkins and her husband, David, of Cumming, Kelli Hightower of Mableton, and Lisa Schade and her husband, Patrick, of Acworth; great-grandchildren, Luke, Laine, Abby, Seth, Noah, Jacob, Colby, Carly, Addilyn, and Maddi; and sister, Robbie Lee Edwards. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, November 21, at Glen Haven Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Noble and Rev. Brady Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084. The family will receive friends form 10 o'clock until funeral time at the church. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in his memory to the Building Fund of Glen Haven Baptist Church, 345 East Lake Road, McDonough, GA 30252.
