Service: 2 o'clock, Saturday, December 26,2015 Place: Shiloh Baptist Church, Newborn, GA Visitation: 5-8pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 Place: Henry Funeral Home, Social Circle James Allen "Jimmy" Baker, age 72, of Newborn, died December 21, 2015. Jimmy loved fishing, hunting, the mountains, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a former volunteer for Newton County Fire Department for 15 years and retired from S&E Construction as a construction worker. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Violet Baker. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dot Baker; sons, Ricky Tanner and his wife, Laurie, of Newborn, and Randy Tanner and his wife, Fonda, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Megan, Molly, Hayley, Mason and Hayven Tanner; great-grandchild, Colton Davis; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, December 26, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Sorrells officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends 5-8pm, Wednesday, December 23, at Henry Funeral Home, Social Circle.
