Celebration of Life Party: Saturday, November 5, 2016 Place: Rockdale Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Time: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm Jack Cecil Wade, Sr, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016 following a long illness. Mr. Wade was born on August 20, 1937 in Fulton County, Georgia. Jack was the older of two sons born to Paul and Elizabeth Wade. Jack (Rabbit) graduated from Fulton High School and was accepted to the Georgia Institute of Technology. However, Knot Head decided to join the Marines for a short stint before receiving an honorable medical discharge. Following his discharge, Jack returned to Atlanta where he subsequently married Miss Louise Newton. Mr. Wade then began a career in the trucking industry that eventually spanned 47 years of service with Bowman Trucking, McLean Trucking and Yellow Freight Trucking. Jack worked in all areas; from Driver to Dispatcher to Assistant Terminal Manager to Terminal Manager. Happy Jack exhibited a fantastic sense of humor and was a master joke teller. He loved listening to good old Southern Gospel music. Jack maintained a positive attitude throughout his 14-year illness; even through his debilitating pain and increasing physical limitations. Big Jack will be greatly missed by his many friends, but most of all by his family. Mr. Wade is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Louise Newton Wade; his daughter Lou Anne Wade Genadry and son-in-law Peter Genadry; and son Jack Cecil Wade, Jr. and daughter-in-law Kim Hinton Wade. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward Frank Wade. Mr. Wade was a Scottish Rite Free Mason and a Yaarab Shriner. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Big Jack's memory to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital/Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at 1001 Johnson Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30342; or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
