Irene A. Knight, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, died December 14, 2024, at the age of 97. Born September 3, 1927, in Redan, Mrs. Knight was a warm-hearted homemaker with an unwavering commitment to her family, her church, and her community. She was known for her kindness and her acceptance of everyone. Her hobbies included shopping and collecting trinkets and nicknacks. Mrs. Knight was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, where she made invaluable contributions by her participation in church activities, as a choir member and the church custodian. She dearly loved her family, church family and friends, with her greatest pride and joy being her son, Phillip. Preceding her in death were her parents, Drew "Doc" & Gertrude Biffle; beloved husband, Walter Jesse "Pete" Knight, Jr.; brothers, Hubert Adel Biffle and Andrew Biffle. Survivors include her adored son, Phillip Knight and special friend, Cecelia Durham; brother, Willis Biffle; many nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, December 19, 2024, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating and interment following in Bethel Community Cemetery, Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service, from 1-2 PM.
