Dessie Irene Burt Hammonds, age 80, of Rutledge, died January 17, 2015. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Estelle Burt Hodge; brothers, Ralph Burt, Thomas Burt, Alvin Burt, John Burt. Surviving are husband, James Hammonds of Rutledge; daughters, Patsy Hammonds of Rutledge, Connie Tucker and husband John of Conyers; brother Altus W. Burt and wife Sharon of Rutledge. Two grandsons and two great granddaughters; many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, January 20, at Centennial Baptist Church in Rutledge, with Dr. Michael Stovall and Rev.
