Imogene Biffle Taylor, age 88, of Covington, died Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born in Avondale Estates and grew up in Lithonia, where she was a graduate of Lithonia High School class of 1953. In 1963, she married William Paul Taylor. Imogene was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church for most of her life, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, singing in the choir, and serving on the cemetery committee. She worked for several years for Ivan Allen, and then DeKalb County School System in Food Service. A loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Taylor; and parents, Grace and Roland Ben Biffle. Surviving are her daughter, Karen Owen of Covington; grandson, Matthew Owen of Covington; brother, Homer Biffle of Monroe; and sister, Margaret Compton of Augusta.
A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, November 27, in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The interment will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery, on Panola Road, Stone Mountain. In lieu of flowers please donate to your church's vacation bible school fund or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
