Howard Larry Jones, age 78, of Covington, died January 23, 2021. He retired from DeKalb County Fleet Maintenance as a mechanic after over 25 years of service. Larry was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bass boats, and guns. And whoever knew him will know this phrase: "I didn't mean nothing by it." Larry is survived by his daughters, Lisa Hawkins and her husband, Steve, of Oxford, Kim Jones and her spouse, Tina, of Covington and Shelley Loyd and her husband, Rodney, of Covington; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 1 o'clock Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Hillandale Memorial Park, with Pastor Scott Mosley officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 prior to the service at Henry Funeral Home.
