Howard Mitchell "Mitch" Hallford passed away May 24, 2020. He was born April 21, 1959 in Seneca, South Carolina. Mitch was the son of Tom and Wynette Hallford. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Sandra Hallford. Mitch grew up in Toccoa, Georgia, but spent most of his adult life in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and later in Atlanta. He was in the food service business for 40 years. Mitch was associated with PYA Monarch and U. S. Foods, where he retired in 2017 as District Sales Manager. He was of the Baptist faith and attended "The Church at Ponce & Highland." His joy was helping the poor and those in need. Friends describe Mitch as a very thoughtful and caring person. He enjoyed being with friends, being in the mountains, fly fishing, golf, and his music. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Ruby Hallford, and Bob and Olee Sullivan. A private Memorial Service will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, Georgia, at a later date.
