Service: 11 o'clock, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 Place: Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home Visitation: 6-8 Tuesday Evening, October 9, 2018 Place: Henry Funeral Home Howard "Howdy" Richard Allen, age 85, of Conyers, died October 7, 2018. Born in Washington, Indiana to Herbert and Myrtle Allen. He retired from A & S Paving where he worked as a superintendent and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the early 1950's. Howdy was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Virginia Lee Goodwin Allen. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Mike and Beverly Allen, of Lithonia; Howard and Connie Allen, of Panama City, Florida; Marietta and Kenneth Faith, of Conyers; Bill and Dora Moravek, of Des Moines, Iowa; Rita and John Collins, of Covington; Mike and Lawanna Moravek, of Covington; sisters, Tinnie Boger and Helen English, both of Washington, Indiana; 23 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memories, with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
