Hazel W. Collins, age 96, of Monroe, died May 16, 2020. She was born October 21, 1923 to Thomas Olin Collins and Jessie Mae Beall Collins. Hazel was a professional office worker with Sinclair and enjoyed her service in the banking industry during her lifetime. But her most important job was that of caring for her family whom she loved dearly. As she entered her middle age, she learned to drive at age 40 and moved to College Park, GA to help care for her sisters and Mother. Hazel loved to shop, arrange flowers, and embellish the grandchildren with lots of love and gifts. She delighted in seeing the smiles and getting hugs from all the children. Hazel believed in her Good Lord and attended Church on Sundays by riding the bus or by driving her famous two door, green Comet. She was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, sisters, Marion Collins, Winifred (Winnie) Daniel, and Shirley Collins; brother, Billy Collins; nieces, Regina Collins Cosme, and Wanda Daniel Reid; nephews, Michael Northcutt, and Stanley Northcutt. Hazel is survived by her sister, Carol Northcutt; brother, Reginald (Reg) Collins; and loving nieces and nephews, Patricia Collins Brannen. Brenda Daniel Bodkin, Debra Northcutt Head, Steve Northcutt, and Pat Northcutt. She also loved all her extra special great nieces and nephews. The Family would like to thank all the wonderful employees who provided such loving care to her at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Monroe, GA and Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, GA. The dedication for her comfort and needs was most appreciated. Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park, GA with a private service.
