Fred Ellis Hatcher, age 74, of Loganville, Georgia, died February 6, 2025. Born on September 14, 1950, in Graceville, Florida, he was the son of the now late Albert & Ruby Hatcher. Fred was known as a hardworking, self-made businessman who owned and operated a successful packaging machine manufacturing company for many years. His heart was full of patriotism for his country which he served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Fred's passion for cars was not just a hobby but a significant part of his life. He was the kind of man who could fix anything, a skill that was evidenced in his professional life and his love for restoring old cars. He had a generous, selfless heart but was also known to be a bit cantankerous! His grandson, Jacob, was the apple of his eye, and he cherished the time they spent together.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, O.T. Ward; sister, Ann Carter; brother, Raymond Hatcher; step-son, Dallas Williams, III. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Hatcher; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri & Eddie Brooks; grandchildren, Jacob Williams, Easton and Avery Brooks; sister, Helen Hicks; nieces and nephews, Richard Hicks, Brad Hatcher, Jason Hatcher, Jennifer Appenzeller; great nieces and nephews; close friends, Barry White and Dennis Sloan.
