Diane Dowdy, of Stone Mountain, died August 26, 2023, at the age of 81. She was a woman of simple pleasures and found immense joy in the company of her little dog, Oscar, and watching classic television shows such as Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. She loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed. Mrs. Dowdy was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd & Eavy Phillips; and her husband, Benny Dowdy. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Betsy Land of Conyers, James and Collise Anderson of Oxford, Saucy and Glenn Stallings of Lithonia; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Davis Wood of Loganville; grandchildren, James Miller, David Stallings, Bryanna Stallings, Kaylee Stallings; 7 great-grandchildren; nieces and their husbands, Amy and Eric Green, Angie and Brian Moon. A funeral service for Mrs. Dowdy will be held 2 o'clock, Wednesday, August 30 in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Green officiating and interment following in Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until service time on Wednesday.
