Evelyn Olivia Cleland Mulkey of Conyers, Georgia went home to be with her Lord on March 21, 2017. She was born on January 29, 1929, the oldest of six children born to Efton H. and Mary (Corley) Cleland. She was married to Reverend Albert E. Mulkey for over sixty years and they had two children, a son, CSM (Retired) David R. (Ron) Mulkey, Sr. and a daughter, Mrs. James C. (Melanie) Lingerfelt, Jr.
Evelyn was a devoted Christian, Pastor's wife and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a graduate of Lithonia High School and worked at Dart Container Corporation in Lithonia for twenty-five years. She was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and son-in-law, Mr. James C. Lingerfelt, Jr., as well as her sisters Mrs. Charles (Georgia Ann) Moon, Mrs. James (Betty) Howard and Mrs. Bobby (Iris) Cleland.
She is survived by her daughter Melanie Lingerfelt of Conyers, Georgia, her eight grandchildren: Mr. David Mulkey, Watkinsville, Mr. Tommy Mulkey, Athens, Captain & Mrs. Erik (Nola) Mulkey, Orlando, Florida, Ms. Amanda Mulkey, Panama City Beach, Florida, Mr. & Mrs. Brian (Cheryl) Lingerfelt, Conyers, Mr. & Mrs. Brad (Donna) Lingerfelt, Oxford, Mr. & Mrs. Joshua (Lauren) Lingerfelt, Conyers, and Mr. Matt Lingerfelt, Jonesboro; her brother, Mr. Bobby Cleland, Buford, and her sisters, Mrs. Lamar (Sara) Wilkinson, Renfrew, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Tony (Linda) Breedlove, Grayson; fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock Friday, March 24 in the Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Reverend Butch Rumble and Reverend Ralph Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadows Memorial Gardens, Conyers, with Reverend Spencer Breedlove officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 on Thursday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia. Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make donations in her memory to Glen Haven Baptist Church or Rockdale Community Church in Conyers.
