Eunice Owens Webb passed away quietly at Greene Point Nursing Home on Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was born July 19, 1927 in Lithonia, Ga. to Newsome and Pearl Owen. She was the baby in a family of ten children whose Mother died giving birth to her. She was raised by their oldest sister, Ruby Rowan, whom she always called 'Mama'. On December 7, 1946 she married James Alvin Webb, and was a home maker and Mother to two daughters for twenty years. In 1966, against her husband's wishes she went to work, and retired from Stearns and Foster Bedding Company after twenty-one years. Following the sudden death of her husband in 1989 she remained in their home in Conyers for twenty years. In 2009 she relocated to Willow Run Retirement Home in Greensboro, and enjoyed life there until a fall in 2011 forced a move to Greene Point Nursing Home in Union Point.
She is survived by daughters Marilyn Willis and her husband, Mike, of Greensboro, Georgia and Melanie Ruiz and her husband, Mike, of Temecula, California; granddaughter, Alexis Ruiz of Temecula, California; extended grandchildren Meagan Ruiz, Rebekah Mitchell, and Zach Willis. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock Wednesday, November 19, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park.
