Mrs. Era Thelma McCollum Maddox, of Lithonia, Georgia, went to be with Jesus on November 4, 2025, at the age of 100. Over her century of life, she wore many hats with grace, but her most cherished was caring for three generations of those she loved most. Mrs. Maddox adored her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included watching classic movies, playing cards, watching and feeding the birds, traveling to the beach, and in her younger years, she loved bowling. Coffee, cookies and gum were her favorite treats, and she was a great cook. Preceding her in death were her parents, Samuel and Janie McCollum; husband, Turman Howell Maddox; son, Kenneth Wayne Maddox; as well as all her siblings, Thomas McCollum, Harold Lee McCollum, Bill McCollum, Maudie Ree Hicks, Gene McCollum. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Maddox Ownby; granddaughters, Shannon Brockway, Victoria Byrd (Bradley), Kristen Kelley; great-granddaughters, Emma and Hannah Brockway. Her extended family includes: Vivian Driscoll; Jeff Brockway; Dianne Butcher; Debra & Jake Randels; Laura, Molly & Jed Conrad; Kella Skinner; Brandie & Ariana; Brenda Brown-Christman; Darlene Dunn; Amber Chandler; many other special family members and friends. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, November 8, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Stodghill Family Cemetery located in the Worthville community of Jackson, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service, beginning at 11 o'clock until service hour.
