Emelyn Livsey Gardner Sexton age 98, of Lithonia, died November 25, 2020. Born in Gwinnett County to Joe Tom and Ruby Jim Livsey, she was a member of the Lady's Auxiliary of the VFW Post #1706, a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Gleaners Chapter and member of the Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection. Emelyn retired from the People's Bank of Lithonia after 35 years of dedicated service. Preceded in death by husbands, Jimmy Gardner and Clyde Sexton; daughter, Eloise Scott; grandsons, Richie Patterson and Mikey Scott; sister, Avis Hannah; brothers, J.T. , Edwin and Raymond Livsey. Surviving are daughter, Kay Brett of Dunwoody; son David Gardner and his wife, Sandra, of Acworth; sister; Annette Merritt of Snellville; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, November 28, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Lithonia City Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in her memory to the Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection, 3676 Hwy 20 NE, Conyers, GA 30012. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
