Frances Ellen Wesley Kelley, age 95, died May 25, 2022. A true Southern Belle, she was born and raised in Lithonia to Mary Ethel Coppedge Wesley and Henry David Wesley. She was a graduate of Lithonia High School class of 1944. Ellen married Larry Kelley and together they raised two children, Nancey and David. She was a secretary and receptionist for Davidson Mineral Properties for over 20 years and was a faithful employee. A member of Lithonia First United Methodist Church since the age of nine, Ellen was a well-loved Sunday School teacher for children as well as senior citizens and sang in duets and quartets with her husband for church services, funerals and weddings. She and her husband enjoyed travelling through many states including Hawaii. Ellen was a God-fearing mother who brought up her children in the same way she was raised: in a loving, caring, thoughtful, and very patient way. She was a true "Pearl of Great Price." Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Larry Kelley; parents; and sister, Sarah Wesley McCord. Surviving are her daughter, Nancey K. Hardman and her husband, Rev. Ewell Hardman; son, David Kelley and his wife, Linda, of Hampton; grandchildren, Kathy Hardman, Rachel H. White, Hannah Greer and her husband, Jonathan, and Matt Kelley; great grandchildren, Jacob E. White, Graham Greer, Oliver Greer, and Abel Greer; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock, Sunday, May 29, at Lithonia First United Methodist Church with her son-in-law, Rev. Ewell Hardman and Rev. Jeffery O'Neal officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park.
