Ellen June Frix, age 82, of Conyers, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born in DeKalb County to Epp and Azzalee Reagin, she grew up in Lithonia and was a 1954 graduate of Lithonia High School and attended Turner Hill Baptist Church where she remained as a devoted, life long member. Ellen retired from Rockdale County School System as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passing on her love of basketball. The Bible speaks of the "Praise of a Virtuous Woman" in Proverbs 31. Ellen devoted her life to Christian service as demonstrated by the loving care she provided her mother, sister and brother during their time of illness. She and her husband were loved by many and were known as "Mama Ellen" and "Daddy Floyd". Ellen gallantly fought and won her two battles with breast cancer and lymphoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine Goddard; and brother, Ernest Reagin. Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years, Floyd Frix; sons, Mike Frix and his wife, Rita, of Conyers, Roger Frix and his wife, Lori, of Covington; daughter, Gina Martin and her husband, Rick, of Conyers; brother, Roy Reagin and his wife, Sandra, of Conyers; grandchildren, Amber and John, April and Philip, Randall and Jenny, Ryan, Ashley, Austin, Mackenzie and Michael; great-grandchildren, Lily, Jackson, Ella, Jameson, and Jessie; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, October 12, at Turner Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Green and Bro. Tyler Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8, Friday at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in Ellen's memory to the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams St. N.W., Atlanta, GA 30303.
