Service: 2 o'clock, Saturday, February 6, 2016 Place: Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home Visitation: 12:30 until service time Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Elizabeth Merritt Smith, age 88, of Pearland, Texas, formerly of Lithonia, Georgia, died Saturday January 30, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and was known for her sweet smile. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clyde Smith, parents, William Henry Merritt and Estelle McWilliams Merritt; sister, Marie Sheppard and brother, Clyde Merritt. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda Garrity of Pearland, Texas; son, Al Smith and his wife, Judy, of Covington; sister, Hazel Adams of Stockbridge; brother, Lewis "Buck" Merritt of Covington; grandchildren, Tricia Gibson, Ryan Conner, Shelby Thompson; great grandchildren, Kelsie Gaines, Logan Gibson, Cameron Conner, Ashton Conner, Slaed Conner and Kori Thompson, nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be 2 o'clock Saturday February 6, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 12:30 until time of service.
