Elizabeth (Liz) Gentry Lewis of Roswell, GA, passed away quietly in her sleep Friday, October 10, 2014. Liz was born December 16, 1926, in DeKalb County, Georgia, to Frank J. Pippin and Rachael Isabel Davidson. She was preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Victor (Vic) Strickland; husbands, Bill Gentry and Allen Lewis; nephew, Paul F. Sellenraad; and her beloved son, Jack Gentry. She graduated from Lithonia High School and attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Liz was a talented seamstress, enjoyed gardening and playing bridge, was known for her beautiful soprano voice and sang in the Lithonia First United Methodist Church choir and with the Atlanta Choral Guild. She is survived by her children, Victoria Gillis (Joe), Anderson SC; Nina Gentry, Atlanta; and Tom Gentry (Lynn), Johns Creek; grandchildren, Lori Nieter (Chet), Carey, NC; Gentry Ridgeway, Greenwood, SC; Christopher Gentry, Atlanta; Daniel Gentry (Mary Beth), Lithonia; and Maggie Gentry, Kennesaw; great grandchildren, Cane Gonzales, Camryn, Jonathan, and Naomi Gentry; and Nora Nieter. She is also survived by sister, Julia P. Sellenraad (Carel); and nieces, Laura Sellenraad-Gundas , Sacramento, CA and Jennifer Sellenraad, Boston MA. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, October 18, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home.
