Eleanor Patricia "Patsy" Ellis, 95, of Gainesville, formerly of Redan, Georgia, died December 8, 2024. Born August 18, 1929, in Demorest, she was the daughter of the now late Hoyt & Amy Watson. Her life was a testament to the power of a caring heart, a vibrant spirit, and a devotion to her faith and family.
Patsy's life was deeply rooted in her faith, as evidenced by her 60-year membership at Redan Baptist Church, and in her later years as a member at Calvary Baptist Church in Gainesville where she loved her church family. Her passion for the Bible was profound, often spending her time reading and studying its passages. She found joy in cross-stitching, reading, and walking, but it was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who were the real joys of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Alvin Ellis; sister, June Tench; and brother, Kenneth Watson. Survivors include her children, Bruce Ellis (Sheldon Parker) of California, Elizabeth Brooks (Dan) of Gainesville, Deborah English (Ray) of Mansfield; grandchildren, April, Cheran, David, Adara (Zech), Tanith, Ceili, Alexander, Ian; great-grandchildren, Isabella, William, Violet and one on the way, Knox; sister-in-law, Sara Watson; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service for Mrs. Patsy will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1370 Calvary Church Rd., Gainesville, with Pastor Raymond Latty officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM in Redan Cemetery, Lithonia. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Thursday, from 10:30-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in memory of Eleanor Patricia "Patsy" Ellis.
