Eileen Rita Thwaites, age 88, of Atlanta, died March 22, 2023. She was born in Couva, Trinidad to James and Gladys Thwaites. Eileen moved to New York in 1963 to be with her mother and other brother and sisters. She worked for many years for Mary Immaculate Hospital as an EKG Technician. Eileen enjoyed traveling, shopping reading her Bible, and spending time with her family. In 1998, she moved to Atlanta, to be with her family. Her family laughingly called her the "Task Master." Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Harold Thwaites, Roy Thwaites, Marjorie Lynch, Ivan Thwaites, and Sylvia Thwaites. She is survived by her brothers, Winston Thwaites of Trinidad, Alec Thwaites of Atlanta and Owen Thwaites of New York; sisters, Barbara McLeod and Pearl Thwaites, both of Atlanta; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, with Pastor K. Francis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens.
