Edward Alonzo Arrington, Jr., known affectionately as Ed, of Lithonia, Georgia, died January 29, 2025, at the age of 65. A funny, creative and talented soul, Ed was a jack of all trades, with a knack for fixing things. His hands were never idle, always seeking out something to repair or reassemble. His mechanical inclinations qualified him well for his career as a plumber, carpenter & auto mechanic. Beyond his work, Ed was of the Methodist faith and had a contagious sense of humor. He loved watching Jeopardy, where he had the chance to showcase his exceptional memory and ability to recall a wide range of facts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Arrington, Sr.; sister, Sue Arrington Reese; niece, Amanda Celeste Conner; nephew, Adam Witt Conner; brothers-in-law, Robert Stanley Reese and Loran H. Conner. Survivors include his sons, Austin Garner Arrington, Dakota Alexander Arrington; loving mother, Ann Yarbrough Arrington; sister, Mary Jane A. Conner; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A memorial service for Ed will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, February 7, 2025, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, with inurnment following at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 PM.
