Edith McEachern Turner, age 84, of Covington, died October 11, 2020. Born in Fayetteville, Georgia to J.W. and Faye McEachern, she was a graduate of Lithonia High School, class of '54. Edith worked for many years as a secretary for Tucker Insurance Company and later as a secretary for her husband's business. She enjoyed crocheting, watching "General Hospital," "Days of Our Lives" and the Hallmark network. She also enjoyed living on her farm, especially taking care of her goats. Edith was a good woman who never gave her opinion unless it was asked for and loved going to her church, Hydes Chapel Baptist Church, which she considered to be her second family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Raymond, who she loved dearly; parents; and brother, Ronnie McEachern. Surviving are her children, Mike Turner, Sr. and his wife, Terri, of Conyers, Lynn Turner of Jersey, and Donna Turner Clack and her husband, Donnie, of Loganville; sister, Charldene "Dene" Chupp of Greensboro; brother, Kenneth McEachern and his wife, Mildred, of Lithonia; 6 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Tuesday, October 13, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, with Rev. Allen Daniel and Rev. Billy R. Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 4-7pm Monday evening, October 12, and one hour prior to the service at Henry Funeral Home.
