Edd Junior Broadnax (JR Broadnax), age 65, of Covington, Georgia passed away December 7, 2020. He was born May 25, 1955 to the late EV and Annie Mae Broadnax of Conyers. JR graduated from Rockdale County High School in 1973. He was a member of Local 72 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and served as a Rockdale County fireman for many years. JR then started his own trucking business and is well known for putting a million plus miles on his latest Peterbilt, known as JR555. JR is also known for his passion for fast cars, boats, and motorcycles. He enjoyed life and loved his family and friends. He is survived by companion of 40 years: Jenny Ballard and her son, Ty. He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses, Vernon and Lucy Broadnax and David and Kathy Broadnax as well as nephews and nieces: Christy Broadnax Keith, Robert Broadnax, Kevin, Lindsey, and Curtis Broadnax. In addition, JR is survived by multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. A private family burial will be held later.
