Service: 2 o'clock, Saturday, August 11, 2018 Place: Belmont Baptist Church, Covington Visitation: 1 hour prior to service Place: Belmont Baptist Church, Covington Earlene Miller Smith, age 74, of Covington, died August 8, 2018. She was a healthcare aide at Starcrest of Conyers and a faithful member of Belmont Baptist Church, which she loved dearly. Earlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Michael D. Smith; son, Daniel Smith; and brother Dean Miller. Surviving are her daughters, Heidi Swafford and her husband, Brian, of Carl, Amy Hardy and her husband, Greg, of Covington, Audrey Leitner and her husband, David, of Conyers, and Andrea Thomas and her husband, James, of Greenville, SC; brothers, James Miller of New York and Mark Miller of Michigan; grandchildren, Joshua Swafford, Sarah Swafford and Beth Swafford, Kaylee Hardy, Hannah and Ben Hardy, Jonathan and Matthew Leitner, and Abbie Thomas; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, at Belmont Baptist Church in Covington, with Rev. Nolan Jackson, Dr. Brian Swafford and Rev. Jim Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be private, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
