Douglas A. Witt, age 58, of Newborn, died, June 21, 2015. Born in Ft. Monroe, Virginia to Lewis Clyde and Charlotte Witt, he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and graduated from Florida State University with a masters degree. He was the grounds superintendent at Hickory Hills Golf Club in Jackson, GA. Surviving are his wife, Suzanne; son, Charlie Witt of Covington; daughters, Bonnie Parker and her husband, Nathin of Social Circle, Katie Ellison and her husband, Greg of Warner Robins; sister, Laura Packard of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Madalyn, Lena, Langston, Abreanna and Elijah. A memorial service will be held 3 o'clock, Thursday June 25, in the chapel of The First Baptist Church of Social Circle, with Pastor Chris Conner officiating.
