Service: 11 o'clock, Thursday, April 26, 2018 Place: Lithonia First United Methodist Church Visitation: 5-7 Wednesday evening Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Douglas Owens, age 81, of Lithonia, died Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was the last of eight children whose parents were Lena and Pierce Owens. Doug was retired from Lucent Technology and was a 'handy man', who could fix, repair, or build anything. He was a dedicated Little League baseball and football coach and loved snow skiing. Doug is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ramona; sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Trudy, Brent and Liz; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed by many. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Lithonia First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Leon Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Lithonia First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 6, Lithonia, GA 30058. The family will receive friends 5-7 Wednesday evening at Henry Funeral Home Lithonia.
