Dorothy Howard Hinton, age 92, of Alpharetta, died November 2, 2015. Born in Decatur, Georgia to James B. and Ina W. Howard, she moved to Lithonia in the early 60's and then to Alpharetta in late 2001. She graduated in 1940 from Decatur Girls High School, then attended Marsh Business School. Dorothy worked for the US army and retired from Sears with 25 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira L. Hinton, one sister, and two brothers. Surviving are her sons, John Hinton and his wife, Diane, David Hinton and his wife Pat, all of Alpharetta; grandsons, Russell H. Hinton, Thomas L. Hinton and Daniel R. Hinton. A graveside service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday November 7, at Rock Chapel Historical Cemetery with Rev. Leon Matthews officiating. Her family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to service on Saturday at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
