Dorothy Marie Chamblee, age 81, of Lithonia, Georgia, died May 12, 2025. She was born June 18, 1943, to the now late Lona and Runell McDaniel. Mrs. Chamblee spent her career as an assembly line worker for Hormel, retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. A talented gardener, together she and Bobby cultivated a large vegetable garden that yielded bountiful crops year after year. Going to the casino brought her much enjoyment. Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Russell Wallace; sisters, Shirley Brock and Mary Jett; brothers, Buddy McDaniel and Danny McElhannon. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bobby Chamblee; son, Scott Lee Chamblee; daughter-in-law, Cindy Wallace; grandchildren, Jason Wallace, Christie Wallace; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, June Fordham; brother, Donald McDaniel; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. A funeral service will he held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, May 14, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, with interment following in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1832 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM, Tuesday, May 13, at Henry Funeral Home.
