Graveside Service: 12 o'clock, Saturday, June 25, 2016 Place: Lithonia City Cemetery Visitation: 10:30 - 12:00 Saturday Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Dewey G. "Jack" Parker, Jr., age 93, died June 22, 2016. Born on March 7, 1923, the oldest of five children to the late Dewey G. Parker, Sr. and Ina Chewning Parker in Lithonia, GA. D.G. grew up in Lithonia, graduating from Lithonia High School in 1941. He served his country in the Army during World War II seeing combat duty in the South Pacific in the Army Signal Corps. He became a Master Electrician operating his own electrical contracting business then went on to work as an electrical inspector for DeKalb County eventually becoming head of the entire inspection department before retiring in 1989. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 69 years, Gloria just one month ago, May 24th. Also his first born son, Dewey G. "Buster" Parker III; infant daughter, Theresa "Terrie" Dianne Parker; first grandchild, Jessica Parker Joseph; brothers Ralph Parker, Marvin "Mark" Parker, and sister, Margie Leen Parker Mashburn. Surviving are his son, John Michael Parker and wife Jackie of Pensacola, FL; daughters Donna Naugle and husband, Eddie of Snellville, GA and Beverly Parker of Ravalli, MT. Grandchildren, Amy Naugle, Joey Naugle, Jennifer Naugle Whelan and her husband Sean. Great grandchildren, John Michael Joseph, Jackson Tyler Joseph, and Logan Naugle. Also survived by sister, Martha Dean Parker of Oxford, GA; sister-in-law, Joe Ann Parker of Hiawassee, GA; several nieces and nephews - especially nephew, David Pennington who has been so thoughtful and helpful these past few years. A graveside service will be held 12 o'clock Saturday, June 25 at the Lithonia City Cemetery with Rev. Ken Chupp officiating. The family will receive friends 10:30 - 12:00 at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia GA. Flowers will be accepted or a donation may be made to your favorite charity in his memory. Psalms 116: 8-9 "For you O Lord have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living".
