Densford Hoke "Denny" Cartledge, Jr., age 66, of Conyers, Georgia, died January 15, 2025. Raised in Lithonia, he was a 1976 graduate of Lithonia High School and worked for BellSouth/AT&T for many years until his retirement in 2012.
Denny's passion for the water was evident in his love for the beach and bass fishing. His enthusiasm for the outdoors also extended to the golf course where he shared many memorable games with his son and golf buddies. He was quite an animal lover, always having dogs. Despite his enjoyment of these shared activities, Denny was a private man who deeply cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Densford Hoke Cartledge, Sr., and his father-in-law, Allan "Big Al" Kimsey. Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Andrea Cartledge; son & daughter-in-law, Allan & Alison Cartledge; mother, Carolyn Ann Cartledge; sister, Tracy Cartledge; granddaughter, Savannah Grace Cartledge; "favorite mother-in-law" (as he affectionately called her), Hilda Kimsey; brother-in-law, David "Tat" Kimsey; nephew, Nic & Brittany Kimsey, and their daughter, Oakley Wren Kimsey; cousin, Todd & Tasha Kimsey; several extended family members and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Denny's life will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church St., Lithonia, with Mr. John Wages officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home, from 12-1 PM. Flowers are accepted, or contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, heart.org.
We encourage friends and family to share their memories of Denny and to upload photographs on his memorial page. These will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy Denny brought into our lives.
