David Cheyenne Ergle, resident of Loganville, met the Savior he dearly loved on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of 58. He was born on January 3, 1968, to the late David Leon and Betty Virginia Hyde Ergle, the first of their two sons.
He faithfully served as the preacher of East Lithonia Baptist Church, where he dedicated his life to sharing God’s Word and encouraging others in faith. His heart for helping others extended beyond the church walls through the founding of the “About My Fathers” homeless ministry.
He also served as the General Manager at Station 300 Gainesville, where his passion for bowling became one of the many ways he connected with people. Whether at work, on the lanes, or among friends and family, his joyful spirit and love for fellowship were always present. Above all, his greatest joy and proudest title was being “Papa” to his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bridgette Ergle. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Melissa Ergle; daughter, Kelly Ergle (Chris Maready); son, Kevin Ergle (Tiffany); brother, Ricky Ergle; 12 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Austin, Hayden, Kameron, Andilynn, Peyton, Baylea, Ansleigh, Lyric, Alleigh, Finley, Aspen; great-grandchildren, Harlynn, Kolton, Raelynn; nephews, Brayden Ergle (Brooklyn), Justin Ingram; great-nephew and great-niece, Jaylee and Oakland; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, May 24, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Hall and Rev. Ricky Ergle officiating. Interment will follow at East Lithonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, on Saturday, May 23, at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
