Charlsey Ann Nord, age 84, of Homewood, Alabama, died April 1, 2023. Born in Decatur, Georgia, the daughter of Charles Andrew Moon and Nonie Ruth Henry. She was a graduate of Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, with a graduate degree in Counseling and School Psychology. A loving wife, and loving mother to three children, she is survived by daughter, Gina Ellen Bacorn, son, Thomas Dawson Nord, daughter, Jessica Caroline Searcy, and husband of 54 years, John Charles Nord of Birmingham, Alabama. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jack and Emily Dowdell, Grant and Henry Nord, Evan and Cole Searcy and one great grandchild, Daniel Hoke Dowdell. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Andrew Moon. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Carol Moon and Marie Moon Stephens. Charlsey was laid to rest Saturday, May 6, beside her mother and father at Sodom Cemetery, Conyers, GA. Charlsey was a lifelong supporter of numerous nature, wildlife and civil liberties organizations. If you would like to honor her life, her family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Nature Conservancy or to an environmental conservation charity of your choice.
