Charlie A. Chupp, age 85, of White Plains, Georgia, died peacefully at home, on Saturday, January 4, 2020, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Lithonia, to William H "Buster" and Ada McWilliams Chupp, he was a graduate of Lithonia High School, served his country honorably in The United States Army in Germany in the Signal Corps. After his military service he went to trade school where he studied plumbing; was a member of Plumbers & Steam Fitters Union Local # 72 for 65 years; was past president of Georgia State Inspectors Association, was Past Master of Zingara Masonic Lodge #519 F&AM and retired as Chief Plumbing Inspector for Fulton County. He was an active member of Walker United Methodist Church, where he was a member for many years. Charlie enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, reading, his church, his family, his friends, and watching sunrises and sunsets at his homes on the lake and the beach in Florida. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Catherine Johnson, J.W. Chupp, Sybil Chupp, Mary Julia Powell, and Morris Chupp. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Charldene McEachern Chupp; sons, Charles Chupp of Conyers, and Jerry Chupp and his wife, Diane, of Newborn; daughters, Gina Bogle and her husband, Mike, of Conyers, Linda Chupp Alliston of Covington and Brenda Chupp of Conyers; brother, Bobby Chupp and his wife, Pat, of Newborn; sister, Dot Baker of Newborn; grandchildren, Nicole Chupp, Seth Bogle and his wife, Christie, Mollie Bogle and her husband, Justin Spengler, Tyler Moon, Cassie Hulme and her husband, Parker, Lillie Chupp, Zachary Chupp, and Caleb Chupp; great grandchildren, Ava Rose, Kasen and Isabella; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held 4-6, Tuesday, January 7, at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, January 8, at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730, Walker Church Rd., Greensboro, GA 30642, with Rev. Ken Chupp and Rev. John Pike officiating. Charlie wished for the United Methodist Men to be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Walker UMC. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
