Charles J. Pettit was born March 28, 1939 and died June 16, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lackey Pettit; daughter, Tina Jewkes; grandson, Jack Morris; mother and father, Lawton Ellis and Artie Pettit; brothers, Bill Pettit and Dude Pettit; sisters, Opal Kelley and Marcella Haygood. Surviving are his children, Audri (Randy) Tarpley of Covington, Keith Pettit of Conyers, Joe (Beverly) Pettit of Conyers, Chuck (Michelle) Pettit of Conyers, Sandi Pettit of Atlanta, Barbi (Patrick) Morris of Temple, Stephani (Aamir) Anwar of Alpharetta, and Olivia Palmer; brother, Tom Pettit of Villa Rica; sisters, Margaret Hamby and Mary Lou Hartis both of Conyers; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time.
