Charles Milford, age 88, of Social Circle, GA, formerly of Lithonia, GA, died in his way- with wheels under his feet- on July 21, 2023. Known affectionately as 'Daddy-O', Charles was born to the late Homer Rastus Milford and Margaret Eleanor Wilson Milford in 1935 and was a long-time member of the Lithonia Masonic Lodge #84 F.&A.M. Charles was known for his love of story-telling and ability to argue with the best of them. A talented woodworker, Charles crafted beautiful swings and Adirondack chairs, each piece a testament to his love for craftsmanship. His love for the outdoors, rocks and working in the red dirt was legendary. Despite his age, Charles never lost his playful spirit and until just recently was still able to ride a bicycle backwards and taught many of his grandchildren to do the same. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Louise Goddard Milford; children and their spouses, Chris & Elaine Milford of Monticello, Dale & Glenn Beard of Orange Beach, AL, Lisa & Ronnie Boone of Lillian, AL, Starla & Kevin Sinyard of Orange Beach, AL; sister, Elizabeth Teal of Tucker; 8 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of acquaintances he considered family. A graveside service to honor Charles' life will be held 2:30 PM, Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery, 6910 S. Goddard Rd., Lithonia, GA 30038 with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Parking will be available across the street in the church parking lot. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Sunday just prior to the graveside service at Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, GA 30058.
